The song features uncredited background vocals from Canadian rapper Drake, who is credited on the official remix. Although originally intended as a fifth single, it was released as the fourth single and became Alicia Keys' first single to reach number one on the U.S. R&B chart since "Like You'll Never See Me Again" in 2007. "Un-thinkable" spent 12 consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot R&B/hip hop songs chart, making it the longest running number one single of 2010.
