- He first came to prominence in the mid-1980s as a teenage chorus girl.

- Since then he has worked in television with the BBC and ITV, and in radio (for Classic FM).

- In September 2012, he joined ITV Breakfast where he presented Daybreak (2012-2014), alongside Lorraine Kelly and Kate Garraway.

- "Walking in the Air" is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film The Snowman, based on the 1978 children's book of the same name written by Raymond Briggs.

- The song is the centerpiece of The Snowman, which has become a favorite seasonal program on British and Finnish television.

- In the film, the song is performed by St. Paul's Cathedral choirboy Peter Auty and re-released in 1985 and 1987.

- The story tells of the short-lived adventures of a young boy and a snowman who has come to life. In the second part of the story, the boy and the snowman fly to the North Pole. "Walking in the Air" is the theme of the program "Walking in the Air".
