Some people lie in their songs, but he heard them and knows they weren't being truthful. He also knows a guy who claimed to be a killer but ended up getting killed instead. He only allows people around him if they're serving him. The protagonist wants to bring up the truth in his lyrics that other artists don't talk about and he knows someone who had a lot of money but couldn't keep it and didn't earn it. The protagonist's dad spent 15 years in jail but now he's out and the protagonist bought his mom a house. He's making a lot of money and turned down a million-dollar deal because he knows he can make more. He's doing well and will continue to succeed.
