"Xanadu" is a song written by Jeff Lynne of the English rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and performed by Olivia Newton-John for the 1980 film "Xanadu". In this song, Olivia Newton-John's voice is accompanied by a parenthetical voice provided by Jeff Lynne, who also orchestrated the instrumentation with ELO. Although it was number one in several countries, this song is Jeff Lynne's least favorite. However, the song did receive a silver certification from the British recording industry and reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
