The protagonist wants to test her husband's loyalty and sends him letters pretending to be someone else. Her husband falls for it and begins to have feelings for the fake person. The protagonist then goes further by arranging a meeting with her partner, who sees similarities between her and his wife when she was beautiful. The partner falls for it and thinks it is his wife, but in the end the protagonist reveals her true identity as "Babooshka".
