The song "Blackman Redemption" is taken from "Confrontation", the thirteenth and final album by Bob Marley & the Wailers, released posthumously in May 1983, two years after Marley's death. The album is composed of unreleased tracks and singles recorded during Marley's lifetime, with the tracks being constructed from demos. Some songs were updated with additional vocals, such as "Jump Nyabinghi" where the I-Threes provided backing vocals that were not included in the original version. The I-Threes also provided harmonies on "Blackman Redemption" and "Rastaman Live Up" to ensure a consistent sound throughout the album.
