The protagonist tries to help him but realizes it's too late, Superman can't be saved. The protagonist then puts his youth behind him and becomes a witness to the death of a hero. He gets rid of all the mementos and accepts that the hero is gone. The protagonist finishes by saying that he will cover the hero's grave and turn the page.
