Roxette - Short Biography

- Roxette is a Swedish pop rock duo formed in 1986 by Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle.
- Their second successful album Look Sharp! was released in the late 1980s.
- Their third album Joyride was as successful as its predecessor.
- Roxette scored nineteen UK Top 40 hits and four US number ones with "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride".
- Other hits include "Dressed for Success", "Dangerous" and "Fading Like a Flower".

- It was written by Per Gessle with Mats "M.P.", the former guitarist of Gyllene Tider. Persson.
- The song became one of the most popular singles of 1989, reaching number one in the United States and Canada around November 1989.
- The song was the first to reach #1 in the U.S. without a 7-inch single.
- In 2005, Belgian trance band DHT released a remixed version of the song, which reached the top 10 in many countries, including France, the Netherlands, the UK and the US.
