- "Love of My Life" is a song by the British rock band Queen, written by Freddie Mercury.
- The song is dedicated to Mary Austin, Mercury's great friend and fiancée.
- The song was originally written by Mercury on piano, and rearranged by Brian May on 12-string acoustic guitar to make it easier to play live.
- The studio version is performed by Brian May on harp.
- The song is a good example of Mercury's rubato piano skills, showing his classical influences of Frederic Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven.
- "Love of My Life" was so popular in concert that Mercury often stopped singing to let the audience take over.
- The song was so successful in South America that the band decided to release a live version of the song as a single on that continent.
- The live version on the album "Live Killers" is in fact a compilation of two different performances: in Frankfurt on February 2, 1979 and in Paris on February 27, 1979.
- The part recorded in Paris is uncertain, as is the whole of "Live Killers" which is not a recording of a single concert but a compilation of several songs from the tour, and nobody knows for sure in which cities they were recorded.
