- The song was written by Freddie Mercury and is taken from the album Jazz.
- It was recorded in August 1978 at the Super Bear studio in Berre-les-Alpes, France.
- The song is built around piano played by Mercury, with drums by Roger Taylor and bass guitar by John Deacon.
- Brian May's only guitar contribution is his solo.
- The lyrics of the song refer to Lady Godiva, an 11th century English noblewoman who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry to convince her husband to reduce the taxes he levied on the inhabitants: "I'm a racing car passing by like lady Godiva".
- The song was re-released as a single in 2015 and sold 1,800 copies in France.
- The video for the song, directed by Jorgen Kliebenst, is actually a live performance of the song.
- The video was filmed during the band's performance at Forest National in Belgium on January 26, 1979.
- Like most videos of the 1970s, it is quite primitive: filmed with a single camera, the whole band is gathered on stage so that all four members can stand together in the camera's field.
