Robert Peter Williams was born on February 13, 1974 in England. He became famous as a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995.
Williams achieved commercial success after launching a solo career in 1996. His first studio album, "Life thru a Lens," was released in 1997 and includes his signature song, "Angels." His second album, "I've Been Expecting You," contained the songs "Millennium" and "She's the One," his first number one singles. Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Best Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards and a Best Contribution to Music Award.

The song "Soda Pop" is taken from "Swings Both Ways," the tenth studio album by acclaimed English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. Released in 2013, this is Williams' second swing album after 2001's Swing When You're Winning. Unlike the previous album, which featured only one original composition, Swings Both Ways features an equal mix of covers and original songs. The album marks Williams' first major work with his former longtime collaborator, Guy Chambers, since 2002's Escapology. Chambers produced the album and co-wrote most of the new songs with Williams.
