"For Once in My Life" is a popular 1960s song featured on American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder's ninth studio album. Released in November 1968 on Motown Records, the album helped Wonder continue to establish himself as one of the label's most consistent artists, even though he was only eighteen years old. In addition, the album was the first on which he shared credit as a producer, a testament to his growing musical prowess. Four songs from the album reached the charts, including the track "For Once in My Life," which reached number two. Other notable hits from the album included "Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day," which peaked at No. 9, and "I Don't Know Why" and "You Met Your Match," which reached No. 39 and No. 35 respectively. In addition, the album introduced the Hohner Clavinet into Stevie Wonder's sound, which became a staple of his music in the years that followed.
