- The group was a Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae band.
- The group was instrumental in the development of reggae music and its popularization around the world.
- The group has released 11 studio albums, four live albums and compilations, and numerous singles.
- Bob Marley is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential musicians of all time.

- Bob Marley and the Wailers released "Three Little Birds" on their album "Exodus" in June 1977.
- The song was not released as a single until September 1980 in the UK, where it charted for nine weeks and reached the Top 20.
- The song was re-released in 1985 as an EP single with a long version on the A side and "Exodus" on the B side.
- The same year, the 45 "Three Little Birds" was released with a dub on the B side, and the 45 "Buffalo Soldier" (King Sporty Mix) was given as a bonus.
- The song was featured in the movies "Gang of Sharks" (2004, performed by Sean Paul and Ziggy Marley) and "I Am Legend" (2007).
- It was also featured in the television series "The Handmaid's Tale: The Scarlet Servant" (season 1, episode 2, sung a cappella by Janine) and "Lost in Space" (season 3, episode 1).
- The song has been adopted as the anthem of the Ajax Amsterdam soccer club since 2008, where it is sung at every half-time. Ky-Mani Marley visited the Johan Cruyff Arena to pay tribute to the fans.
- Other teams like Liverpool FC and the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team also use the song regularly.
