"Protection" is a song written by Bruce Springsteen for Donna Summer, which appeared on Summer's 1982 album of the same name produced by Quincy Jones. The song was later included on the 1997 album "One Step Up/Two Steps Back: The Songs of Bruce Springsteen". Although it was only released as a single in Belgium and Japan, it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance along with Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, Bonnie Raitt and Kim Carnes.
